When Floyd Washington and Hayward Lightfoot step off the Greyhound bus in front of the Aku Aku Club on the Las Vegas Strip in 1955, they think they have left the prejudice and segregation of Louisiana behind them. It only takes five minutes to find out they're wrong. They¹re quickly dispatched to the West Side, "where coloreds belong after dark." Within hours of arriving in Las Vegas the two find themselves drawn into the intrigue of the mob, boxing and the nightlife at the Moulin Rouge.
