| November 20, 2000 First Place Screenplay to be presented at CineVegas LAS VEGAS, Nv. The Nevada Film Office will be presenting "BRO - Bull Riders Only " - the first place winning screenplay of the division's 2000 Screenwriters Competition as a script-in-hand reading at the CineVegas Film Festival. The reading will take place in the Bordeaux Room at the Paris Las Vegas Resort on Saturday, December 2, 2000, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission will be by festival pass or specially issued complimentary tickets only. A limited number of these tickets are available on a first-come basis, and should be picked up in person at the Nevada Film Office which is located at 555 E. Washington Avenue, Suite 5400, in the Grant Sawyer State Government Building, prior to the event. "BRO" is the contemporary story of a professional bull rider who becomes the foster parent of a young innercity teenage boy. A story told with warmth and humor, this clash of cultures creates the greatest challenge to the developing relationship between a modern-day cowboy and a tough kid who is more than that at heart. Written by Melinda May of San Diego, California, "BRO" won top honors in a field of nearly 100 competing scripts. This is the first time in the NFO competition's 13-year history that this opportunity to showcase the winning script as a script-in-hand reading has been possible. The CineVegas Film Festival is facilitating this reading in support of the NFO's annual competition, as well as including recognition of the first place winner at the awards event for the Festival Saturday night, December 2nd. More than a dozen student actors from the Community College of Southern Nevada will be participating, as will several professional actors from the Las Vegas community. Any questions may be directed to the Nevada Film Office at (702) 486-2711 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
