Lieutenant Governor Krolicki Announces Revenues, Launches Annual Directory and Presents Awards at Press Conference

LAS VEGAS, Nv. -- Nevada Lieutenant Governor Brian Krolicki, who as Chair of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development now oversees the Nevada Film Office (NFO), hosted that division's annual kickoff press conference today. The multipurpose event served to announce filming revenues for calendar year 2006, officially launch the NFO=s 2007 Nevada Production Directory, and present screenwriting awards to the winners of the 2006 NFO Screenwriters Competition.

"We welcome our new Lieutenant Governor, Brian K. Krolicki, and appreciate his participation in this annual event," says Charles Geocaris, Director of the NFO. "Each year, we have been privileged and honored to have the Lieutenant Governor of Nevada helm this press conference which encompasses many aspects about filmmaking of all kinds in Nevada. We appreciate Lt. Gov. Krolicki's enthusiasm for this industry in our state and look forward to continuing to cultivate and serve this economic diversification."

Copies of the 2007 Nevada Production Directory were on hand for distribution to attendees. Thousands of copies of this award-winning resource guide are distributed throughout the year by the Nevada Film Office to select industry professionals around the world. It contains extensive information essential to successful production throughout the State, and is considered the primary reference tool for all media projects that shoot in Nevada. An electronic version can also be found online at www.nevadafilm.com, where it receives more than 100,000 hits per month.

Additionally, the first, second and third place winning scripts and their screenwriters for the 2006 Nevada Screenplay Competition were announced by Lieutenant Governor Krolicki who presented awards and sponsor gifts to the winners. The NFO screenwriters contest is the oldest of its kind in the United States, and 2006 marked the 18th year of the competition. The top three winning scripts will be copied and conveyed by the Nevada Film Office to producers and production companies willing to read the scripts for possible future projects.
