Are you a filmmaker with a desire to use a real prison for your upcoming movie production instead of building a set? If so, the Southern Nevada Correctional Facility may be a location for you to scout.
Located at 1 Prison Road in Jean, NV, the 500-600 bed Southern Nevada Correctional Center was the first major state prison to open in Clark County in 1978 but it actually closed 30 years later in 2008.
Here, you can find single and double cells, a dining hall, laundry room, and a gym with a basketball court.
The prison is real and its inmates were real. The stories and scenes you can film here are going to be raw, emotional and intense.
If you’re interested in possibly doing some filming here, be sure to contact us with your company’s credentials and have your script available. Not all requests are approved, but if you’re prepared with the right information, you could find yourself behind bars… and that would be a good thing.
