Located just one block off of the Las Vegas Strip, Vegas Indoor Skydiving is one of Las Vegas’ most thrilling attractions. Opened in the summer of 1982, it was the first vertical wind tunnel built for commercial use. A second wind tunnel was opened in Pigeon Forge, TN, both facilities operating under the name Flyaway Indoor Skydiving.

The 15-year Flyaway manager purchased the Las Vegas facility in 2005 and renamed it Vegas Indoor Skydiving. Since then, a number of indoor skydiving facilities have opened all over the world. Its popularity has even spawned a sport and a number of competitions such as the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving and the Windoor Wind Games.

The vertical wind tunnel simulates skydiving using a 1,000 horsepower motor with wind speeds up to 120 mph.

The lure of experiencing skydiving without the risk has attracted people from all over the world, including a long list of celebrities. Howie Mandel, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Strahan, Edward Norton and Andre Agassi among others have all tried their hand at indoor skydiving while visiting Las Vegas.

Justin Bieber made headlines in 2013 when he was banned for life after he and his crew left without paying.

Not only is this a perfect thrill-seekers attraction while in Vegas, it’s also available for filming. Vegas Indoor Skydiving appeared in the 2009 reality series Kendra in which former Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson dropped by after a photo shoot while in Las Vegas. She liked it so much she did it twice…with a slight twist.
