Location Spotlight: Wingfield Park

Located in downtown Reno, Wingfield Park is comprised of five smaller parks:

Within these parks are picnic and barbeque areas, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, pathways for walking and biking, an outdoor amphitheater, and the Truckee River Whitewater Park.

The Truckee River Whitewater Park is the centerpiece of Wingfield Park. It is free to the public and open year-round for kayaking, tubing, canoeing, and whitewater rafting. It offers 11 drop pools that provide channels for freestyle kayaking and slalom racing.

For a brief glimpse at the beauty of Wingfield Park, the following clips were filmed in the early morning hours on a February day just a few short years ago in 2015.
