What Is A Colorist?
A colorist works with the director or directory of photography on setting the color tone of a film by going through each frame or scene of a movie and developing a visual style that helps tell the film’s story.
A colorist’s job can be as straightforward as fixing exposure issues or color grading images to match from scene to scene, which is useful in cases where lighting is inconsistent on the different filming days. It can also be as advanced as giving the entire film a specific look or feel to make it appear to be from a different time period or different location than where the scenes were shot at.
