Production Notes: Production CoordinatorWhat Does A Production Coordinator Do?

A production coordinator is the main point of contact for nearly all crew members. A production coordinator handles much of the scheduling, paperwork and administrative duties involved in a production, from handling call sheets, production reports, work permits and visas, and insurance information to distributing script revisions and scheduling updates to the cast and crew.

As a production coordinator, it is important to be very organized and efficient as well as have great leadership and communication skills. Being available to answer questions or clarify any concerns at any time is also an important responsibility, so flexibility is another important trait to have.

Other responsibilities can include ensuring that all office supplies and equipment are prepared in advance for each day of production, footage gets to where it needs to go after filming, and travel and accommodations are set up for all cast and crew members.
