Curbed is a real estate and entertainment blog that showcases the places where people live, by celebrating, chronicling, and explaining everything you need to know about homes, neighborhoods, and cities. Recently, the production team visited Nevada for their Tiny Town, USA series, highlighting the “tiny town” communities of Reno and Las Vegas. Tiny homes are ideal for people looking to downsize as well as people who are looking for affordable housing.
In Reno, a small community called the Tiny Ten features ten tiny, energy efficient luxury homes under 700 sq. ft. Priced in the low $200’s, the Tiny Ten homes are about half the cost of a new home build in Reno.

In Las Vegas, a tiny-house community in downtown Las Vegas called Fergusons Downtown is full of trailers, Airstreams, tiny houses, and micro-apartment units. Originally created by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, the community has attracted a wide array of people. From entrepreneurs to musicians, artists, business owners, and more, Fergusons Downtown has cultivated a strong atmosphere of creativity and friendship amongst the residents.
