The pilot episode of Fistful of Steel recently aired on June 26, 2018 as a History Channel special. It filmed last year in a secret location in the Nevada desert and used local Nevada production crew. The show features expert metalworkers who compete in an underground challenge to build the most out of the box military-inspired weapons and artifacts.

Many of the master craftsmen who competed in the first challenge were from Las Vegas and Reno. Their eye for military history helped them in building the blistering weapon that cleared pillboxes in WW2 and shaped the Korean and Vietnam War – the fearsome flamethrower.
