Fun Fact: The script for ‘Joy Ride,’ written by J.J. Abrams and Clay Tarver, is allegedly based on a true story. In 1984, two friends were on a road trip and stood up to an abrasive trucker in a bar, only to be stalked by the trucker during the rest of their road trip. The discovery of a rusty nail stuck in their tire after they spent the night in a motel was the inspiration for the name “Rusty Nail.” – Source
