Scene In Nevada: “Sham Pain” by Five Finger Death Punch

Formed in 2005, Five Finger Death Punch, also known as Five Finger, Death Punch, 5FDP or FFDP, is an American heavy metal band from Las Vegas, NV. Consisting of vocalist Ivan Moody, guitarist Jason Hook, guitarist Zoltan Bathory, bassist Chris Kael, and drummer Jeremy Spencer, the band has achieved much success with each of their albums, earning a multitude of awards and recognition over the years.

Their newest (seventh) album And Justice for None was just released on May 18, 2018. On April 20, 2018, the band released “Sham Pain” as the second single from the album. They spent a weekend in mid-April shooting the music video for the song on location in Downtown Las Vegas and Boulder City, NV.

“‘Sham Pain’ is a lyrical snapshot of probably the most chaotic, yet the biggest year of our career,” says guitarist Zoltan Bathory. “So far we’ve come out of every bear attack relatively un-scraped, and the band is tighter than ever. Life is not so difficult if you don’t take yourself sooo seriously. As long as you can find the humor in everything, you are winning and the winning is strong with this video, as it follows the footsteps of our NOscar winning masterpiece ‘Jekyll and Hyde.’ It was a simple process: We lit the set on fire and then made our poor director Rob Anderson’s artistic sense into a piñata.
