Vanishing Point is a 1971 action road crime thriller directed by Richard C. Sarafian and starring Barry Newman, Cleavon Little, and Dean Jagger. Newman plays a car delivery driver named Kowalski who bets that he can deliver a 1970 Dodge Challenger from Denver, CO to San Francisco, CA in less than 15 hours.
Kowalski ends up attracting the attention of several police offers who try to stop him for speeding and finds himself in a police chase across Nevada. He is encouraged to continue evading the police by a blind disc jockey on the radio nicknamed “Super Soul” (played by Little) who is listening to the police radio frequency and following the chase. Kowalski then gets lost in Nevada and an old prospector (played by Jagger) helps get him back to the highway.
