Voted “Best of Las Vegas” for more than 30 years running, Freed’s Bakery is a local Las Vegas favorite, but soon, all of America will know about Freed’s. This Sunday, November 5 at 10pm | 9c, the Food Network will be airing two back-to-back episodes of a brand new reality television series starring Freed’s Bakery. The show, called Vegas Cakes, features the family-owned bakery as they design and create elaborate custom cakes for local community events and high profile clients.
Freed’s Bakery was first approached by Toronto production company Shark Teeth Films over a year ago. The pilot was filmed in April, and nine additional episodes have been filmed since then with each one focusing on three high-end custom cakes (source). The last episode wrapped up filming just a few weeks ago (source).
Some of the fun and extravagant cakes made include a giant Cadillac cake for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend, a magical unicorn cake, and an alien-themed cake for the Las Vegas 51s.
