Mr. Belvedere Goes to College is a 1949 comedy film directed by Elliott Nugent and starring Clifton Webb, Shirley Temple, and Tom Drake. Webb reprises his role as Lynn Belvedere, the “World’s Greatest Genius,” from the 1948 comedy film Sitting Pretty.
In Mr. Belvedere Goes to College, Belvedere enrolls in a major university with the intention of completing the four-year program in only one year. While attending the university, he meets a journalism student named Ellen Baker (Shirley Temple) and ends up arranging for her to make up with her estranged boyfriend Bill Chase (Tom Drake).
