Essential Job Functions: 

  • Oversee all aspects of video editing that include: story editing, graphics, music and sound design, color correction and grading, and any other post-production needs to finalize video edits.

Description: In conjunction with the Head of Production and ESALV General Manager, the Esports Video Editor will be responsible for the overall coordination of multimedia editing procedures and workflows. The ideal candidate will be a highly-skilled, creative video editor, with superior techniques and strong storytelling abilities, and a strong fundamental knowledge of competitive gaming, the games involved, and the characters within each game. This position is responsible for editing a wide variety of long-form and short-form productions and promotional content for use across the Allied Esports International network and should have considerable experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment.

Essential Job Functions: 

  •  Edits long-form programming, including documentaries, clips shows and studio-based series for in-house use and broadcast on ESALV and Allied streaming channels, as well as schedules these shows for twitch rebroadcast
  • Edits short-form content, including promotional spots, docu-style features, opens/teases, sizzle reels, highlight videos, and social media
  • Works closely with producers, directors, writers, designers, and other editors on collaborative projects
  • Creates motion graphics elements involving typography, photography, video and animation, in game renders, free cam fly throughs of maps/in engine features, and/or work with in-house production personnel on execution
  • Provides general sound design and color correction
  • Work closely with observers to create in game camera movements through fly cams and x ray modes, for use in post-productions and
  • Manages content workflow and maintains project management

KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS:

  • In depth understanding of broadcasting, production and programming systems, equipment and procedures
  • Must be able to operate in game spectator modes
  • Must be able to utilize game files, in a modified or unmodified way, to create or pull assets from within game engines to utilize in various project
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Must have a deep understanding of all popular esport titles
  • Must be highly proficient in HD workflow, Adobe Premier, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Studio Suite, After Effects, and Photoshop
  • Must understand MOBA drafts, and how to create them in a post-production workflow, as well as a live environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  Minimum 5 years professional experience editing both long-form and short-form content
  • Proficiency in motion graphics is preferred. Experience with 3D modeling and animation
  • Must be competent with all current and past gen gaming consoles, and be familiar with console/admin commands on PC games
  • Must be knowledgeable about the latest editing techniques and visual trends
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Must be familiar with current gaming trends, including all competitive modes, new titles releasing, and upcoming expos
  • Must have 5+ years gaming experience with various titles like League of Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch, Counter-Strike, Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, Street Fighter, or other similar titles
  • Experience with working for an agency, post-production company or broadcast creative team is a plus
