Nevada Women’s Film Festival
March 14, 2015
The first ever Nevada Women’s Film Festival comes to Las Vegas on March 14, 2015, in honor of Women’s History Month.
The under-representation of female craft, vision, and experience in film is well documented. The Nevada Women’s Film Festival seeks to increase this representation by inviting submissions from all genres, including shorts and features.
The common element of the films selected will be a strong female presence. We are seeking a fair representation of women at the helm. We are also looking for stories with strong female characters or which otherwise depict women in a positive light. We encourage diversity of worldview, background, and experience. Filmmakers of all genders, races, ethnicities, ages, socioeconomic levels, religions, height, weight and levels of abilities are encouraged to submit.
Priority will be given to students and Nevada filmmakers. But filmmakers around the world are encouraged to submit.
Submissions are to be made online via Film Freeway (see sidebar) and are open until 11:59p, Saturday, February 14, 2015.
Early bird submissions are free. $10 after January 31. (Waivers available for hardship and students.)
Filmmakers must deliver final format for Festival screenings. No exceptions will be permitted.
The festival will be an all day event (noon to midnight) on March 14, 2015 at Baobab Stage, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ticket information will be available soon.
Filmmakers are responsible for their own travel arrangements, but feel free to ask questions about local accommodations. Films can be shown without filmmakers in attendance.
