Markiss McFadden’s career in film began as an actor, but it quickly became evident that his true passion was filmmaking. To date, he has directed thirteen films. With experience in both acting and directing, Markiss possesses a unique ability to connect with actors in a way that distinguishes him from many directors. He excels at uncovering the emotional core of a story and bringing out the distinctive qualities of each character, resulting in films that offer a richer and more complete storytelling experience. Markiss’s dual perspective, from both in front of and behind the camera, allows him to draw profound depth from his actors while maintaining the film’s overarching themes. His directorial approach involves a thorough review of the script with the writer or creator, followed by revisions as needed to ensure the narrative is as strong as possible. Markiss’s passion for filmmaking is evident in the energy he brings to each project.

As a producer, Markiss McFadden understands that the role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from the creative to the technical. On his first feature film, he took on the challenge of becoming the ultimate producer. In addition to directing, leading the cast as the principal actor, and producing, he also handled duties such as 1st Assistant Director, and more. The success of that film quickly earned him recognition within the filmmaking community, leading to numerous requests from other filmmakers to produce their projects. Since then, Markiss has produced over seventeen films, including six short films, nine feature-length films, and two television pilots for Netflix. As a producer, he believes it is crucial to be proactive in every aspect of the filmmaking process, from budgeting to post-production. This approach allows him to consistently deliver high-quality films on budget, without compromising the integrity or vision of the story.

McFadden Family Films is a full-service production studio founded in 2012 by Markiss McFadden. This multi-award-winning company has collaborated with some of the industry’s leading professionals. McFadden Family Films manages every aspect of filmmaking, from pre-production to post-production, and is fully equipped to handle the distribution of the final product. In pre-production, the company oversees casting, location scouting, crew management, payroll, call sheets, and all required paperwork, including reports, permits, production insurance, and release forms for both actors and locations. Pre-production is regarded as the most critical phase of any project, and McFadden Family Films prides itself on having one of the best crews in the business. In post-production, the studio provides services such as editing, sound design, color grading, music score, and VFX/Animation. All of McFadden Family Films’ projects have achieved global distribution.
