Beneath the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains and Lake Tahoe in Minden, NV lies the historic Van Sickle Station. Sitting on 613 acres, this expansive working ranch surrounded by trees and forested mountains offers a peaceful and serene setting.

Van Sickle Station was originally owned by rancher Henry Van Sickle. Van Sickle constructed a two-story hotel in 1857, complete with a bar, kitchen, and a store. When the Pony Express began its operation in 1860, Van Sickle Station became a place of transition for riders to change horses.

Over time, the hotel fell into disrepair and was eventually torn down in 1909. Then in 1944, a major preservation effort took place at Van Sickle Station, and many of the barns, guest houses, and corrals were restored and are currently maintained.

In addition to the restoration effort of the buildings, much of the original hand hewn-beams and stone were salvaged from the original Pony Express Station buildings and used to construct a gorgeous stone ranch house, which offers a spacious locale for productions seeking to film scenes featuring a private vacation getaway for a group of friends, a couple’s weekend away from home, or even a quiet and secluded place to host a creative or relaxation retreat.

If you are looking for a sprawling working ranch with roaming cattle, a beautiful stone ranch house, and a gorgeous forested mountain landscape for your next production, be sure to check out Van Sickle Station!
