Welcome to our 100 year old home, located in the heart of old southwest in Reno NV. This much loved only 2 owner home sits on a historic location in Reno, directly across the street from Washoe County Golf Course.
Washoe Golf Course was the home to the original Reno airport, Blanchfield Air Field. Charles Lindbergh, known for being the first pilot to fly solo in a transatlantic trip from New York to Paris, landed the Spirit of St. Louis on Blanchfield Air Field on September 20, 1927. “The Reno field is entirely too small for planes the type of which will be seen in the near future," said Lindbergh "It must be enlarged to take care of the gigantic airlines which are bound to come”. Boeing purchased land east of the air field that is now the Reno Tahoe Airport and the old Blanchfield is now home to the Washoe County Golf Course.
Over the years our family has felt on many levels that paranormal activity is present. The stories of the homes builder/owner Marshall Gusti and how he poured his heart into the building the home and how he smoked cigars on a regular basis. Still to this day every now and then, we get strong smells of a woodsy tobacco. We welcome Mr. Gusti his love and passion for the home.
When we purchased the home the Gusti daughters who were in their 60’s, disclosed to us that they would have Reno High School dances aka “hops” and parties in the basement.
The home itself is filled with massive raw hand hewn beams, vintage archways, a 8.5’x5’ fire place encased in the same beautiful beams and many antique doors. We purchased the home 20 years ago and in that time we have remodeled and updated while trying to keep the original feel and love that the family built into the home. Urban Road also boasts 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms along with a 500 square foot basement with windows and a staircase.
Our 100 year old home’s interior is clean and updated but still paying attention to its age. We are situated on 1/4 of an acre in a park like setting with a beautiful swimming pool, pool house and mature landscaping. This beautiful old and a bit haunted home provides a perfect backdrop for your project.
