What Does An Art Director Do In Film?
In film, art directors plan and carry out the production designer’s creative vision for the film’s locations and sets. Art directors are responsible for making sure that the art department’s budget and scheduling is on track, so time management and the ability to negotiate and come up with creative cost effective solutions are necessary skills to have.
Art directors must also communicate and collaborate with set decorators, set designers, location scouts, and accountants as well as other departments such as special effects, construction, transportation, property, and more.
In Nevada, we have art directors with extensive experience in television, film, commercials, video, print, live events, and more. They have worked on productions such as the movies The Trust, Clarity, and Christine as well as Adam Lambert’s “Another Lonely Night,” David Nail’s “Kiss You Tonight,” Snoop Dogg’s “Wet,” “Sweat” and “Life of Da Party” music videos, and more.
