Production Notes: Janitorial Services

Why Are Janitorial Services Important for Film Productions?

From office buildings to warehouses, film and television production studios, crew trailers and more, nearly every production needs cleaning and janitorial services for their filming locations. Some cleanup and maintenance tasks can be handled by production team members, but other jobs should be done by professionals.

Professional janitorial services include daily tasks such as dusting, vaccuuming, trash disposal, and restroom sanitizing. More advanced jobs include handyman services (like replacing light bulbs and repairing fixtures), construction area cleaning (such as after a set has been built or even destroyed for a scene), carpet and upholstery stain removal, floor waxing, window washing, and more.

Janitors are essential to the health and safety of the cast and crew on set. They help prevent accidents from occurring (such as slips, trips, and falls), they can help anticipate and fix electrical hazards, they offer disinfection, sanitation, and sterilization solutions to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores, and they are familiar with a variety of chemicals that can pose dangers to people and animals.

If you offer janitorial services in Nevada and are not yet listed in our Nevada Production Directory, you can learn more about the NPD here or create a listing here.
