The historic Riviera Hotel & Casino originally opened on April 20, 1955. After 60 years of operation, the Riv (as it is fondly known as) closed down on May 4, 2015.
The Riviera has played a huge role in the local Las Vegas entertainment industry, hosting many famous headliners such as Liberace, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, Comedian Andrew Dice Clay, German Illusionist Jan Rouven, and more.
The Riviera has also been a part of countless feature films and productions including, but not limited to:

The Riviera will be demolished through two separate implosions. The first will be on June 14, 2016 at around 2am. The second implosion will occur in August 2016.
