The Production’s Origination
The original Top Gear series first aired in 1977 on the BBC in the UK as a thirty minute monthly program, and it ran until 2001. A revamped hour-long, studio-based format of the show was picked up and broadcast a year later. Now in its 24th season, the UK show actually had a few episodes from Season 19 filmed in several locations throughout Nevada (source).
