The McKinley Arts & Culture Center is a historic building located in Reno, NV that boasts two gallery spaces, rental office space, classrooms, and an auditorium for rehearsals / performance space. Originally serving as the McKinley Park School, the stucco-surfaced building was designed by local architect George Ferris in 1909. It was the first of four single-story mission architecture-style schools built in Reno known as the “Spanish Quartet.”
Constructed in a U-shape, the McKinley Arts & Culture Center features a central open courtyard and an arcade around the main entry area. The rehabilitated building also includes a two-story central tower at the base of the U, with a one-story wing behind it.
Plenty of parking is available for large production teams, with a large parking lot that can accommodate up to 122 parking spaces. Additional street parking is available as well. The grounds are well maintained and well shaded for outdoor filming, and the location also offers a kitchen for breaks.
The McKinley Arts & Culture Center’s filmography includes the 1993 TV movie Sworn to Vengeance, which is a crime drama about a Nevada police officer seeking vengeance for the murder of three innocent teens.
