Scene In Nevada: Hell’s Kitchen

Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen at Caesars Palace

There are many TV shows that are based on real life but rarely do you see a TV show made into real life. That’s what’s about to happen for long running TV show Hell’s Kitchen hosted by celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay.

The show has been captivating viewers since 2005. Each season, two teams of chefs are progressively eliminated one by one each week as they compete for a job as head chef at a restaurant.

Throughout the season, contestants are given a series of challenges and are judged based on performance. Chef Gordon Ramsay is the Head Chef, directing teams through challenges. Ramsay is famous for his short patience and frequent outbursts, often yelling and swearing at contestants.

The US version of the show is based on the UK show by the same name. Hell’s Kitchen airs in 41 countries including the UK. Though the show has a restaurant setting, it is typically filmed in various soundstages and studios around Los Angeles, only being open for guests during tapings. Some episodes have also been filmed at a few hotels and casinos in Las Vegas.

After 12 years on the small screen, Ramsay is bringing the world’s first Hell’s Kitchen restaurant to real life at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. “Fans of the show have been asking us to bring a Hell’s Kitchen restaurant to life since day one, so I’m thrilled to finally be doing it here at Caesars Palace,” said Ramsay.

Hell’s Kitchen will be Ramsay’s fifth restaurant in Las Vegas. The 8,000-square-foot eatery is a re-creation of the show’s set. It will seat nearly 300 guests and offer a daily lunch/dinner menu with a showcased kitchen. It will also feature floor-to-ceiling windows for views of the Las Vegas Strip.

The new restaurant is designed to be an immersive experience in an effort to encourage visitors to feel as if they were transported to the studio set of the show. “A key element of the show’s success has always been the diners’ experience, so we are excited for guests in Las Vegas to feel like they too are part of the show – flames and all,” said Ramsay.

“Once inside, guests will not only feel but hear the energy of the space, with audible kitchen commands,” “You too may catch yourself repeating back, ‘Yes, chef!'”

Hell’s Kitchen restaurant is now taking reservations ahead of its Jan. 16th debut, with the official grand opening on Friday, Jan. 26 with festivities beginning at 4 p.m., according to restaurant representatives.
