Scene In Nevada: Domino

Domino is a 2005 action crime film loosely based on a true story. The film follows Domino Harvey, a bounty hunter who has been arrested by the FBI and investigated for possible connections to a $10 million armed robbery from the owner of the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Harvey is interviewed by a criminal psychologist who prompts her to provide the details leading up to the theft.

The movie’s inspiration comes from Domino Harvey, the English daughter of actor Laurence Harvey and fashion model Paulene Stone, who was a model turned Los Angeles bounty hunter.

Harvey is played by Keira Knightley, and Harvey herself consulted on the production and spent three weeks on set. She also contributed to the soundtrack and attended the wrap party in December 2004. The film is dedicated to Harvey who died just a few months before the film was released.

Where Was Domino Filmed?

Domino was filmed in California as well as a variety of locations throughout the state of Nevada.

Approximately six days were spent filming at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino and its Top of the World restaurant, which was closed at the time for renovations. The Stratosphere was actually not included as part of the original script. Executive producer Barry Waldman met with the owners of the Stratosphere to discuss featuring it in the film and the owners agreed after a few changes were made to the script.
