When EA Sports game designers were looking to include fantasy courses in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour® video game, they dropped their plans to design their own imaginary course when EA Sports executives discovered Wolf Creek Golf Course in Mesquite, NV. Scouts sent to play the 18-hole course at Wolf Creek loved its unique layout, saying it was “unlike anything they had played before” (source). In 2007, EA Sports reached out to Wolf Creek Golf Club to form a partnership, and the course was included in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour® 2009 video game for Xbox 360, PlayStation®2, PlayStation®3, PSP®, and the Wii.

Touted as the “ultimate golf experience” and a “bucket list golf course,” Wolf Creek Golf Course has continually been ranked as one of the best public courses in the country. They are also used as a setting for a variety of ad campaigns by companies like Buick, Ogio, and Under Armour. For a full list of awards and accolades, visit their website at GolfWolfCreek.com.
In order to capture the course’s breathtaking landscape, EA Sports executives sent a helicopter with a camera out to fly over Wolf Creek Golf Course (source). Several other camera angles were also used to highlight the course’s stunning fairways, red rock canyons, and dramatic elevation changes.
