Scene In Nevada: The Stand

The Stand is a post-apocalyptic horror/suspense novel by Stephen King. Originally published in 1978, The Stand is about the spread of a deadly flu virus that was accidentally released from a U.S. military facility, killing the majority of the world’s human population. The story focuses on the survivors who are split into two groups and drawn to two destinations – Boulder, CO or Las Vegas, NV. The “good” survivors end up in Boulder while those drawn to the dark side head to Las Vegas. The novel culminates in a confrontation between Good vs Evil.

The Stand was adapted into a television miniseries in 1994. Watch the trailer below:

While there have been reports of The Fault In Our Stars director Josh Boone working on a film adaptation of The Stand over the past several years, recent articles have revealed that work on The Stand is currently delayed while Boone takes on another Stephen King adaptation, Revival (source).
