Location Spotlight: Sparks Victorian Square

Often referred to as half of a twin city (“Reno-Sparks”), Sparks, NV is located just east of Reno and is the fifth most populous city in Nevada. In the heart of downtown Sparks is Victorian Square, a pedestrian-friendly (and film-friendly) plaza that hosts many open-air events and offers a variety of amenities and entertainment options.

Featuring luxury residential complexes, a gorgeous mountain skyline, the iconic high-rise Sparks Nugget Casino Resort, a new Galaxy Theatre with stadium seating, astounding art pieces, waterfalls and fountains, a variety of restaurants, bars, and retail stores covering about 25,000 square feet of Victorian Avenue, and more, Sparks Victorian Square is a major attraction in Northern Nevada, offering the capacity to host large crowds, parades, and festivals.

Some of the events Victorian Square is known for hosting include:

  • Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off, America’s largest barbecue festival, drawing half a million BBQ lovers to enjoy Victorian Square over the course of six days
  • Hot August Nights, which showcases classic American cars in a parade
  • Reno Craft Beer Week, a region-wide craft beer festival
  • Pumpkin Palooza, a kid-friendly harvest-themed festival
