What Is A Film Score?

A film score is original music by a composer written specifically for a film. Typically instrumental in nature, a film score helps enhance the storyline by dramatizing the emotions of each scene. Using the right music for a scene helps to convey the intended message of a scene and elicit the reactions that film producers want from viewers.

To learn more about how music and film scores can either enhance or change a scene’s theme, watch these two informative videos below:

In Nevada, we have several award-winning (including Emmy®-nominated and Emmy®-winning) music composers with decades of experience creating original scores for feature films as well as television shows, commercials, radio spots, video games and presentations. Their styles and genres of music include electronica, pop, hip hop, rock, jazz, classical and more.
