Scene In Nevada: "Bounce" by Calvin Harris ft. Kelis

One of the most successful DJs in the world, Calvin Harris is no stranger to Las Vegas. The award-winning superstar DJ has signed exclusive DJ residency deals with Wynn Las Vegas in 2012 and the Hakkasan Group in 2013. In January 2015, he extended his residencies with the Hakkasan Group for three more years.

Born on January 17, 1984 in Dumfries, Scotland, Harris (real name Adam Richard Wiles) became interested in electronic music in his teens and ended up being discovered via his MySpace page, where he published his homemade recordings. His third album 18 Months (released in 2012) helped him make history in the UK, becoming the first artist to achieve nine top 10 singles from one album.

“Bounce” was the first single released from 18 Months. Featuring American singer Kelis, the song marked the first single in which Harris did not provide vocals. Directed by Vincent Haycock, the music video was filmed in Las Vegas. The music video almost didn’t happen as the original idea for the video included a “down-on-his-luck devil,” which conflicted with Kelis’s religious beliefs. The new concept for the video features a guy who reacts to a bad breakup by dancing through Las Vegas and crashing the set of the “Bounce” music video where he runs into Kelis.
